Prospero's Gift

I haven't gotten far enough in the book to understand what the problem is, but I can tell that the new Prospero Library in the college has alot to do with the main problem. I am upto chapter 10 so far, and they are now discussing what Prospero had left the Prospero Library committee members, which includes only one student, Leo, and college professors that were close to Prospero. I'm really interested in Leo, after seeing that he is trusted so much by the teachers and by a man who died leaving millions behind. Prospero gave each member a gift. They were all books, worth in the thousands. I wonder if they will sell the book for the money, or keep it to respect Prospero's gift?
